We like to see ourselves primarily as problem solvers and innovators in specialised areas, although we can do the ordinary just as well. The majority of our products were developed as a result of filling a gap in the market or a customer request when their suppliers ran out of ideas.

Gruebb are well known as the suppliers of the most advanced stainless steel tube drawing oils and our products are used in plants in the US, Austria, Switzerland and the UK. We have made the drawing of SS tubes(304L, 316L etc), high nickel alloy tubes such as 625 and shaped rod white metals faster, with fewer defects, longer die life and lower Ra, cleanable with either water-based alkaline washes or solvents such as Dowclene 1601. We produce high performance stainless steel pressing / forming oils for aerospace applications. For an equipment builder, we formulated and supply an innovative water-based gel for mandrel lubrication in their stainless steel tube bending machines.

Some years ago we became aware of the fact that the marine commercial and leisure market needed better waterproof greases for the harsh environment deck machinery has to operate in. Duckhams’ Keenol was withdrawn and users sought our help to find an alternative. This led to the launch of Ramonol White Grease - an excellent value lithium grease, specially suited to stern tube lubrication. However, we knew mariners wanted a single grease for all deck equipment, so we followed up with Ramonol Advanced which is a calcium sulphonate grease with much better waterproof qualities and higher protection. OEM’s like this grease so much several give a tube/tub with every equipment sale. For high speed trailer wheel bearings, we supply Ramonol Universal – a solids free marine grease. We also supply Ramonol Universal to mountain bike manufacturers for use in pedals. Scramble bikers like it for it’s durability in adverse conditions.

When a manufacturer of high quality race cycle frames and parts started to use Ramonol Advanced during assembly of certain parts we started looking at the cycling grease market and wondered how we could make cycling easier for all types of activities and bike types. We tested every bike bearing grease we could find at an independent test centre using a wheel bearing energy consumption test they developed for us. Ramonol Universal came mid point which was a great result. We then experimented with formulations until finally we found the technology that gave a best in class result. This grease we call Ultraglide Pro. It not only required less energy but had much better performance over a longer period. We’re currently looking for a specialist bike wholesaler in this field to partner with before launching it.
